Championship Sunday is upon us with No. 2 Texas taking on No. 4 Wake Forest in the men’s final while No. 1 Georgia plays No. 3 Stanford in the women’s final.

Wake Forest will be seeking its second consecutive championship while Texas is looking for its first. Stanford will also be seeking its second consecutive championship and 20th overall while Georgia hopes to win its third.

For the fourth straight day the weather forecast calls for plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the upper 80s so unless something unexpected happens this will be the first time in recent memory that none of the matches at the finals site were effected by wet weather.

Let’s take one final dive into the numbers to see who has the edge in each championship match.

Live scoring of the matches are available at these links – Men & Women and you can watch both on the Tennis Channel

Thoughts & Prediction: Both teams have to feel pretty good about certain spots in the lineup with Wake liking its chances at 1, 2, and 3 while Texas likely expects to take 4, 5, and 6. Wake hasn’t played well in doubles all tournament but I think they get it together today and take the point and for the second year in a row Bar Botzer will provide the clincher to make Wake the back-to-back NCAA Champions – Wake Forest 4-3

Match Notes
Georgia 6-0; National ranking #5
Stanford 5-1; National ranking #1
Order of finish: Doubles (1,3,2); Singles (6,4,5,2,3,1)

Prediction & Thoughts: Georgia handed Stanford its only loss of the season at the National Team Indoors in Seattle and both teams are expected to put out the same lineups today unless Stanford makes a change again at No. 6 like it did yesterday against UNC. Neither team is counting on the doubles point but the team that gets it will obviously have an easier path to the title. I like Jokic, Wolff, and Kowalski at 1, 4, and 6 for Georgia while I think Lord, Lampl, and Shin get it done at 2, 3, and 5 for Stanford – Georgia 4-3
