All summer long we’ve seen players with college ties make their mark on the doubles side and this week has been no exception. Seven former college players and two current players won doubles title this week at the Futures-level while another nine with college ties finished as runner-up. Texas A&M rising sophomore Hady Habib won his first professional title when he and Ankit Chopra won the doubles title at the Sri Lanka F3 Futures in Colombo. Habib and Chopra came back from a set down to defeat Chandril and Lakshit Sood 2-6, 7-5, 10-8. Habib joins Arthur Rinderknech, Austin Krajicek, Jackson Withrow, and Junior Ore as Aggies that have won pro doubles titles in the last two weeks.

Boris Arias (LSU ’16) won his third doubles title in the last two months when he and Federico Zeballos defeated Aleksandre Bakshi (Oklahoma Rising Jr) and George Tsivadze 7-6, 7-6 to win the Georgia F1 Futures in Telavi. Arias entered the week with a career-high doubles ranking of 572 and that’ll go higher once these 18 points are added in a week from now.

David O’Hare (Memphis ’14) won his third doubles title of the year as he and Luke Bambridge defeated Nathan Ponwith (Georgia Rising Soph) and Harrison Richmond (UCF ’17) 6-0, 6-3 in the finals of the $25K Wichita, USA F23 Futures. O’Hare and Bambridge didn’t drop a set all week with their only close match coming in the quarterfinals when they defeated Melo and Santos 7-6(2), 7-6(6). O’Hare entered the week just 22 spots off his career-high ranking of 117 although he was defending 48 points from a finals appearance at last year’s Winnetka Challenger.

Alex Sarkissian (Pepperdine ’14) won his first career doubles title with he and Alexios Halebian defeating Ronnie Schneider (North Carolina ’17) and Filip Peliwo 6-3, 7-6(0) in the finals of the $25K Canada F4 Futures in Saskatoon.
