Mississippi State junior Nuno Borges finished off a dominating week in California by winning the men's singles title at the Oracle/ITA National Fall Championships. Borges hadn't dropped a set all week entering Sunday's final against Wake Forest junior Petros Chrysochos and that wouldn't change in the 1 hour and 10 minute match.

Borges faced an early break point on his 1-1 service game but he managed to hold on the no-ad point when Chrysochos missed a forehand wide. Borges had three break points on Chrysochos's 2-3 service game but the Wake junior fought them off to hold for 3-3. Borges had a pair of set points on Chrysochos's 4-5 service game but Chrysochos hit an overhead to bring up the no-ad point and then he hit a service winner to get the hold for 5-5. Borges held easily for 6-5 and then he went up 15/40 and would get the break from 30/40 to take the opening set 7-5.

Borges fought off a pair of break points to start the second set and then he had four break points himself but Chrysochos came back from 0/40 down to hold for 1-1. Borges held on the no-ad point, with a service winner, for 2-1 and then he broke Chrysochos from 15/40 for 3-1. Borges held for 4-1 and then Chrysochos fought off a break point to hold for 2-4. After an exchange of holds, Borges came back from 0/30 down to hold on the no-ad point, via a service winner, to clinch the championship.

Despite the setback in the singles final Chrysochos managed to bounce back in the doubles final as he and Skander Mansouri defeated Texas's Rodrigo Banzer and Leo Telles 6-2, 6-2. Chrysochos and Mansouri, who got in as an at-large selection despite never having played a match together, won four of five matches in straight sets with their closest call coming in the second round against Columbia's Jackie Tang and Victor Pham (4-6, 6-3, 10-6).

Florida International senior Andrea Lazaro came back from a set down to defeat Duke senior Samantha Harris to win the women's singles title. Harris jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the opening set and had four break points to extend it to 5-1 but Lazaro fought back to hold for 2-4. After Harris held for 5-2, Lazaro fought off a pair of set points to hold for 3-5. Lazaro broke Harris at love to put it back on serve at 4-5 and then she held from 40/30 to even it at 5-5. Harris held for 6-5 and then she broke from 30/40 to finally close out the set 7-5.

Lazaro and Harris exchanged breaks to start the second set and then Harris held on the no-ad point for 2-1. Lazaro held for 2-2 and then broke at love for 3-2. Lazaro quickly went down 0/40 on her next service game but she managed to hold for 4-2. After an exchange of holds Lazaro broke Harris from 15/40 to take the set 6-3.

Lazaro struck first in the third set with a break for 3-1 but Harris broke back on the no-ad point for 2-3. Lazaro broke from 30/40 for 4-2 and then she came back from 0/40 down to hold for 5-2. Lazaro closed it out with a break from 15/40, via a forehand winner down the line, to win 5-7, 6-3, 6-2 in 1 hour and 57 minutes.

Stanford's Emily Arbuthnott and Michaela Gordon won the women's doubles title with a straight set win over Ole Miss's Alexa Bortles and Arianne Hartono. The Cardinal duo jumped out to a double break 3-0 lead in the opening set and despite giving one of the breaks back they'd still take the opening set 6-4. Arbuthnott and Gordon raced out to a 4-0 lead in the second set and would cruise to the finish line with a 6-4, 6-1 win.

Arbuthnott and Gordon, who got in as the last at-large selection, won their first three matches in third set supertiebreaks before winning their final two in straight sets.
