We started to see some separation this past week from the top of the conference to the rest. UNC and Duke are pulling away from the rest with Ga Tech, Wake, and UVa all taking losses over the weekend. The tobacco road neighbors are clearly the cream of the crop in the ACC this season, and personally I would give the nod to Duke. They may have lost head to head, and UNC may retain the top spot nationally, but Duke has been absolutely dominant since that loss. A special nod to the Orange this week for coming up with the biggest win in the history of their program, knocking off #3 Georgia Tech.

BC entered the rankings at #50 after being on a bit of a hot streak and unfortunately immediately fall back to earth with a costly loss against the Hokies. NC State lost a tough, tight match to a good Clemson squad on the road, and Syracuse takes care of business in Pittsburgh against the winless (in conference play) Panthers.

Florida State continues to own the Cavaliers this year, after coming up with a big road win in Charlottesville, their second win this season over the Cavs. The Demon Deacons split their double header losing to Miami and beating NC A&T. Wake Forest has another out of conference match at noon on Monday against William&Mary before a big weekend heading to Atlanta to take on Georgia Tech. Duke handled Louisville fairly routinely and NC State comes up with a nice road win at Va Tech.
