I saw where the plans have been approved to add an additional 2 courts to Georgia’s indoor center so if all goes as planned when the NCAA Tournament returns to Athens in May 2017 there will be 6 indoor courts onsite.  Construction is scheduled to begin in May 2016 and completed by January 2017.

I listened to an interesting interview that Lisa Stone (Parenting Aces) conducted with Ross Grenstein (Scholarship for Athletes) earlier this week and the topic was college transfers. If you’ve got an hour I highly recommend that you give it a listen if you want to hear some of Greenstein’s insights on why college tennis players transfer and the rules about transferring.  I expect my list to get rather crowded once each school releases its roster in the fall.
Former Georgia assistant coach, Will Glenn, did a candid 20 minute radio interview with Dawg Sports Radio. I thought it was interesting to hear how Will made the roster as a walk-on back in 1998.
There will be 7 guys with college ties playing men’s singles at Wimbledon next week – 5 got in based off rankings (Kevin Anderson, John Isner, Benjamin Becker, Steve Johnson, Blaz Rola) and 2 got in through qualies (Aleksandr Nedovyesov, JP Smith).  The Smart Athlete’s Dominic Tinodi did a nice breakdown on each of the 7 along with the 2 gals (Nicole Gibbs, Irina Falconi) that will in the main draw.
