After a tremendous weekend of tennis in Charlottesville it is time to hand out some more hardware. Below is my College Tennis Today National Team Indoors All-Tournament Team along with guys that earned honorable mention. Now just to be clear, this isn’t the official ITA NTI All-Tournament team (which will probably be released on Wednesday/Thursday) although I expect the coaches to agree with what I have listed.

The All-Tournament MVP and three of the six singles selections came from North Carolina while Virginia had two guys and UCLA had one. I also listed guys that earned honorable mention but I couldn’t find anyone at #3 singles to fit the bill because it seemed like everyone had at least one loss or not enough finished matches.

Most of my picks were pretty obvious but the ones that required a little thought were #1 singles, #6 singles, and the overall MVP. I ended up going with Mackenzie McDonald over Brayden Schnur at #1 due to the H2H win in the semifinals although Schnur was very deserving as well. The reason I went with Anu Kodali at #6 over Martin Joyce, even though Joyce beat him, was because Kodali’s team made the final and I thought the overall quality of Kodali’s opponents were tougher plus the dominating win over Wiersholm really put him over the top. My choice of MVP was pretty obvious to me because Ronnie Schneider was the only one to go undefeated plus he had a clinch against Ohio State. Some may think Jack Murray is deserving because of his clinch in the finals but if you look at the tournament as whole you got to go with Schneider.

I tried to put someone from North Carolina on the ATT for doubles but just couldn’t do it after the Tar Heels went 1-3 in doubles during the weekend.
