A couple of good ones on the docket for today. Texas A&M and Florida were voted #2 and #3 in the preseason SEC coaches poll while Oklahoma and Ohio State were in everyone’s preseason top 10.

#30 Florida (6-3) at #8 Texas A&M (12-3) – 1pm est/12pm cst – Live Scoring & Video – Florida is coming off a 4-3 road win at LSU in a match where Florida dropped the doubles point but won the first four completed singles matches. Texas A&M is coming off a comfortable 6-1 road win at Auburn. Texas A&M is very, very tough to beat at home so Florida will have to bring its A+ game to come away with a win.

Projected Singles Lineups (w 3/6 UTRs)

1. #50 Diego Hidalgo (FLA 14.13) vs. #13 Arthur Rinderknech (aTm 14.42)
2. #22 Elliott Orkin (FLA 13.96) vs. #53 Shane Vinsant (aTm 13.93)
3. #30 Chase Perez-Blanco (FLA 13.96) vs. #106 Jordi Arconada (aTm 13.69)
4. #77 Alfredo Perez (FLA 14.07) vs. Harrison Adams (aTm 13.11)
5. Gordon Watson (FLA 13.53) vs. AJ Catanzariti (aTm 13.55)
6. McClain Kessler (FLA 13.63) vs. Jackson Withrow (aTM 13.95)

Texas A&M is 12-3 in doubles while Florida is 6-3 so it should be tightly contested point. I’m going to take the Aggies in doubles and Rinderknech, Arconada, and Withrow in singles while I like Orkin, Perez, and Watson for the Gators. Prediction: Texas A&M 4-3

#4 Ohio State (14-1) at #13 Oklahoma (7-4) – 1pm est/12pm cst – Live Scoring/Fox Sports Go – Last year OU went into Columbus and snapped the Buckeyes NCAA record 200-match home winning streak so you have to think that revenge will be on its mind today. OU is trying to find its way without Andrew Harris in the singles lineup though they hope to get him back soon. One of the big factors today will likely be the playing conditions – temps will be in the 60s but it will be windy (possibly too windy to play outdoors).

Projected Singles Lineups (w 3/6 UTRs)

1. #6 Mikael Torpegaard (OSU 14.54) vs. #63 Axel Alvarez (OU 14.29)
2. #17 Hugo Di Feo (OSU 14.26) vs. #100 Alex Ghilea (OU 13.96)
3. #32 Chris Diaz (OSU 14.07) vs. Spencer Papa (OU 13.94)
4. #45 Herkko Pollanen (OSU 13.67) vs. #119 Florin Bragusi (OU 13.81)
5. Ralf Steinbach (OSU 14.05) vs. Maxime Mora (OU 13.69)
6. Martin Joyce (OSU 13.86) vs. Andre Biro (OU 13.79)

Ohio State is 12-3 in doubles but dropped the point the last time out at Notre Dame while Oklahoma is 7-4. I think the doubles point is a little more important for Ohio State because they don’t want to fall behind on the road especially if its outdoors. I’m going to take Ohio State in doubles though singles will be a grind. I think Axel Alvarez turns it around and gets a win at #1 and I like Spencer Papa versus Chris Diaz and Florin Bragusi against Herkko Pollanen. However I think Ohio State will get the three points it needs from Hugo Di Feo, Ralf Steinbach, and Martin Joyce to pull it out though if some of the matchups are different OU could find it way to a win. Prediction: Ohio State 4-3
