The seeded players had a good day on Tuesday with the 5 remaining seeds in the women’s draw advancing to the quarterfinals while on the men’s side the 5 highest seeds left in the field all advanced as well.

Men’s top seed Liam Draxl had to come from behind yet again with the Kentucky sophomore fighting off 2 match points to defeat Tennessee’s Adam Walton 7-5 in the third. Next up for Draxl will be a meeting with UCF’s Gabriel Decamps.

Four of the remaining eight players left in the men’s draw are from the SEC while the AAC, ACC, Big Ten, and Big 12 have one each.

Women’s top seed North Carolina’s Sara Daavettila won her match in straight sets over Pepperdine’s Jessica Failla. In the quarterfinals, Daavettila will meet Vanderbilt’s Christina Rosca.

Four of the remaining eight player left in the women’s draw are from the ACC while there are two from both the SEC and Pac-12.

    • Match Time: 2 hours 33 minutes – Holmgren led 2-0* in the first set then Boitan reeled off 5 straight; in the second set Holmgren won the first 3, Boitan took the next 3, and then in stayed on serve until Boitan broke Holmgren’s 5-6 service game on the deciding point to take the set 7-5 (Holmgren led 40/15 in that last game); in the final set Boitan went ahead 2-0* but Holmgren won 3 straight to take a 3-2* lead; after 3 consecutive holds Boitan broke Holmgren’s 4-4 service game on the deciding point then served it out from 40/30

    • Match Time: 57 minutes – Blumberg broke Diallo’s 1-1 and 3-5 service games in the first set while not facing a break point; in the second set Blumberg broke Diallo’s 1-2 and 1-4 service games while again not facing a break point himself

    • Match Time: 2 hours 9 minutes – Galarneau broke Kovacevic’s 3-3 service game in the opening set and then held serve two more times; Galarneau went up a break at 2-1 in the second set but Kovacevic broke back and then later in the set he broke Galarneau at love to take the set 6-4; Kovacevic won 12 of 16 points on his serve in the final set while breaking Galarneau on the deciding point 3 times

    • Match Time: 1 hour 53 minutes – Rodrigues led the first set 2-0* then Cukierman won 4 straight to go ahead 4-2* then Rodrigues won the next 4 to take the set 6-4; Rodrigues broke Cukierman at love to start the second set and maintained the break lead until he served for the match up 5-4; Rodrigues had 3 match points at 40/15 but Cukierman came back to break; in the TB Rodrigues went ahead 3-0 then Cukierman evened it at 3-3; Cukierman fought off 1 match point at 4-6 but Rodrigues closed it out on the next point
