After the second weekend of Big XII play, TCU has put themselves on top. The Horned Frogs extended their winning streak to 10 matches after wins at home against Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. TCU bested OU 4-2. TCU jumped off to a hot start, winning the doubles point and 4 of 6 first sets in singles. However the match was delayed an hour and eventually moved indoors due to lightning. Two days later, TCU proved to be too strong for Oklahoma State, beating the Cowboys 4-0.
OU and OSU also played matches in Austin, but were unable to pick up any match wins. Texas beat OSU on Friday, 4-0. Things started off looking good for OSU as they were up a break 5-2 on both #1 and #2 doubles. The doubles point then came down to #1 doubles, and Texas team of Leo Telles and Rodrigo Banzer saved matched points and eventually went on to win 7-5 and steal the doubles point for Texas. They carried the momentum to win the match 4-0. On Sunday, Texas seemed to still have that mojo, as things were pretty straight forward against Oklahoma. Texas won the Red River Rivalry 4-0.
Baylor improved to 14-0 at home this season, winning 4-0 in their match against Texas Tech. Alex Sendegeya was one game away from winning his singles at #1 for Texas Tech, but Baylor controlled the other matches. This was Texas Techs first loss against Baylor in their last five meetings.
Texas Tech now sits 0-3 in the Big XII but will finally get to play at home when they host Texas Thursday and TCU Sunday. Back in 2016 Tech won at home against both teams, 5-2 and 4-3 respectively. They will look to put that home court advantage to good use.
Baylor will travel to Fort Worth to play TCU on Thursday. TCU can clinch at least a share of the Big XII regular season title with a win. Baylor then hosts Texas on Sunday.
Bedlam this year will be in Stillwater as OSU hosts OU for senior day on Saturday. Both teams will look to improve their seed for the conference tournament. They both sit in the middle of the Big XII standings with a .500 conference record.

Texas lost to Tech then Oklahoma wins at OSU. Texas goes to Baylor. While TCU has this wrapped up, the 2 seed in conference hinges on what happens in Waco tomorrow. I don't see any National Championship contenders in conference but I see a very deep balanced conference.
Well, the Big 12 IS very deep and balanced, but TCU is 18-1 over the last 3 years against Big 12 teams and just wrapped up their 3rd consecutive regular season conference championship, their 2nd consecutive undefeated Big 12 season and earned the top seed in this weekend's tourney by 2 full matches by beating Tech (4-2) yesterday in Lubbock. According to the UTR's (of two weeks ago), Alex Rybakov was the #1 college player and Trevor Johnson was #3 (UNC's Blumberg was #2). The Frogs have leaped frog from #33 6 weeks ago to #6 by winning 12 straight matches (and 12 straight doubles points) and at least some of their 1886 fans at Senior Day against Baylor just might consider them a contender. Or at the very least a tough out for anyone.
