ITA Regional Championships – Men’s Week 2

The final weekend of the ITA Regional Championships is underway with 8 men’s regionals taking place from coast to coast. Below I’ll list the top singles seeds along with the most recent draws. The Mountain Regional in Las Vegas got started on Wednesday with all the rest except the Texas Regional beginning on Thursday. Pro Circuit Recap – Week of 10/10 – 10/16

13 players with college ties won pro events last week with another 15 finishing as runner-up. Wil Spencer (Georgia ’12) won his third career Futures singles title with a straight set win over Illinois junior Aron Hiltzik at the $25K USA F31 Futures in Houston. Spencer broke Hiltzik from 15/40 to take the first set 6-4 and then after falling behind 3-1 in the second Spencer reeled off five straight games to close it out 6-4, 6-3 in 1 hour and 18 minutes. Spencer is expected to rise from 730 to around 585 in next week’s rankings while Hiltzik will shoot up from 1580 to around 885.Rhyne Williams (Tennessee) and Hans Hach (Abliene Christian ’13)...

ITA Regional Wrap Up

The first of two weekends of ITA Regional Championship action concluded on Tuesday. Wake Forest’s Skander Mansouri swept singles and doubles (w Christian Seraphim) titles at the Carolina Regional so Wake Forest will now have those two plus Petros Chrysochos entered in the last big tournament of the fall. Virginia only had one player entered in the ITA Atlantic Regional but one was all it needed because senior JC Aragone won the  singles title with a straight set win over RIchmond’s Jacob Dunbar. ITA Regional Championships – Week 1 Update

Five ITA Regional Championships finished up on Monday with three more set to wrap up on Tuesday. Two of the four women’s doubles champions were No. 1 seeds while Cal’s Andre Goransson was the only top singles seed to win so far. The New Look College Tennis Today

When I first started this blog at the end of January 2015 I thought I’d just make the occasional blog post about college tennis and maybe a few would read it. Fast forward to October 2016 and my site has logged over 850,000 page views so I decided it was time to create a new site that looked better and functioned better.
