There are lots of current and former college players representing their respective countries in Davis Cup action this weekend. Doubles specialists Joran Vliegen (ECU) and Sander Gille (ETSU) will make their Davis Cup debuts for Belgium in the tie against the United States. The duo has already captured one Challenger doubles title this year after winning six titles last year of which four were Challengers. John Isner (UGA) will play in his 16th tie with Team USA while Steve Johnson (USC) will play his fifth. Aleksandr Nedovyesov (Okla St) will appear in his 10th tie for Kazakhstan while Tim Puetz (Auburn) will play in his third tie for Germany.Below...

There were some very tight matchups for all the top SEC Men’s teams this week. While Mississippi State and Texas A&M managed to escape unscathed the Gators were not so lucky and fell on Sunday in a shocker to South Carolina just two days after beating #1 Wake Forest at Wake. Two huge road wins forMisissippi Statepushed their winning streak to 10 while A&M has now won four in row since dropping a non-conference match to TCU.Things went pretty much according to plan on the women’s side with one notable exception where Tennessee picked up their first SEC win on Thursday with an upset of #15 Auburn at home. South Carolina continues to set the...

We started to see some separation this past week from the top of the conference to the rest. UNC and Duke are pulling away from the rest with Ga Tech, Wake, and UVa all taking losses over the weekend. The tobacco road neighbors are clearly the cream of the crop in the ACC this season, and personally I would give the nod to Duke. They may have lost head to head, and UNC may retain the top spot nationally, but Duke has been absolutely dominant since that loss. A special nod to the Orange this week for coming up with the biggest win in the history of their program, knocking off #3 Georgia Tech.Thursday, Mar 29William & Mary at Virginia (ooc) recapNorth...

It was a great Easter weekend of Pac-12 men’s tennis with several close dramatic matches and important results for NCAA tournament positioning. By the end of the weekend there would be three teams very pleased with their performance, two with a neutral performance and four teams who had negative weekends. Best WeekendsUCLA: The Bruins had one of the most impressive weekends in the entire country. It began on Friday when UCLA matched up with #3 Stanford in a highly anticipated rematch from early February when Stanford pulled out a tight 4-3 match. The Bruins had two things going for them heading into the match; this time around the match was at...

Texas A&M and Mississippi State remain atop the men’s conference standings with 6-0 records after each posted a pair of wins last weekend. Both teams will get serious tests this weekend as they both face a couple of top 25 teams on the road. A&M will visit Vanderbilt and Kentucky while Mississippi State will visit Georgia and Tennessee. While those are the marquee conference matchups there is one huge non-conference matchup this week when Florida visits #1 Wake Forest. The Deacs lost their first match of the year Sunday to Florida State but rebounded Wednesday to take down #5 North Carolina and will be ready for the Gators. Full match previews...

We start the weekend off on Thursday with a bang with two huge match-ups; North Carolina at Wake Forest and Florida State at Duke. North Carolina lost to a hot Georgia Tech last weekend but held on to the No. 1 ranking but will be severely tested in Winston Salem against a very strong Wake Forest squad. Florida State knocked off No. 14 Wake Forest last weekend and this weekend faces No. 4 Duke and No. 18 Virginia.NC State checked in at No. 42 in this weeks rankings and hits the road to take on Clemson on Friday and then Va. Tech in Blacksburg on Saturday.BC has had a good couple of weeks and is rewarded by entering the ITA rankings at No. 50 which is no small...

I have to apologize to the ladies for the delay in getting the weekend roundup out for them. When I started this I had no idea the amount of time it was going to consume (praise Bobby for all he does and has done in the past) on top of the time I am putting into the CollegeTennisRanks.com site. I also didnt want to short change the coverage so it took a little extra time to get it together. Ill have to keep up as the weekend progresses moving forward to keep up. Anyhow, on to the deetsSouth Carolina continued its dominance in the SEC winning at Auburn and Alabama and moving to 8-0 in conference play with 6 of those victories on the road. With the Gamecocks...

They have the weekend off and wont play until April 3rd against UT Arlington.Baylor and Oklahoma are on a two match winning streak, with Oklahoma surviving a 4-3 win earlier this week against Fresno State. Both teams will look to continue the winning streaks this Thursday against their last non-conference opponents. Baylor plays Incarnate Word in a double header at home. Oklahoma is...

Im going to change the format up a little this week and give a few highlights from the weekend along with any quotes I may have been able to get from coaches. I’ll then follow it up with a recap for each team so you can either read it all or scroll straight to your team. The two teams with the toughest schedule this past weekend were Tennessee and Mississippi State with each facing a pair of top 25 teams with Tennessee getting the harder draw of #6 Texas A&M at home and #14 Georgia on the road. Tennessee earned a split of those two matches coming up with a huge 4-3 road win on Sunday at Georgia. Meanwhile Mississippi State faced #19 Vanderbilt...

Wow! What a weekend, what a conference! An ACC team occupied the top spot in the nation for both the men and the women, and on the same weekend, both those teams fall to conference foes. For the women, it was the top ranked UNC Tarheels hosting the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and getting stung. This felt a little bit like trouble going into the weekend as Ga Tech had been playing extremely well and UNC had been squeaking by with a lot of 4-3 wins lately. That will catch up to you sooner or later in such a competitive conference, and it did on Saturday in Chapel Hill when the 6th ranked Ga Tech squad beat UNC 4-3 (recap and scores can be found here). Perhaps...
