Master’U BNP Paribas Set To Begin; Pro Circuit Recap – Robert Galloway and Benjamin Lock Continue to Dominate in Dubs

The 12th annual Master’U BNP Paribas is set to begin in France with several current and former US college players set to participate in the eight-team event that Team USA has dominated since 2011. Team USA will be represented by UCLA’s Martin Redlicki and Ena Shibahara, USC’s Brandon Holt, Pepperdine’s Ashley Lahey, Florida’s Alfredo Perez, and North Carolina’s Alle Sanford. Pro Circuit Recap – Norrie Nearing Top 100; Bayerlova Takes Charge in Charleston; Schneider Sweeps Fountain Valley; Lesniak Bags Another Title

Cameron Norrie officially started his pro career in June, after three stellar years at TCU, and since then he’s won a match at an ATP 250, qualified for the US Open, and made three Challenger finals, two of which he won. The second of those Challenger titles came last week in Tiburon, California, when Norrie dropped just five games in the finals in a straight set win over former Tennessee Volunteer Tennys Sandgren. Another Year Another Title For Robert Lindstedt, Nik Scholtz Wins Singles Title in Zimbabwe, More Doubles Success

Saturday was another great day for doubles with former college players winning six pro titles. Robert Lindstedt (Pepperdine ’98) won a pro doubles title for the 20th year in a row as he and his doubles partner Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi won the ATP 250 Antalya (Turkey) Open with a 7-5, 4-1 retirement win over Oliver Marach and Mate Pavic. Lindstedt has won 47 career titles with the last 21 of those coming at the ATP level. His biggest tournament win came in 2014 when he and Lukasz Kubot won the Australian Open plus Lindstedt has also been a runner-up at Wimbledon three times. Wake Forest sophomore Petros Chrysochos is your 2016 Saint Francis Health System Men’s All-American Champion after overpowering Ohio State junior Hugo Di Feo. Chrysochos entered the match as the higher ranked player but it was Di Feo that got off to the quick start after breaking from 30/40 to take an early 2-1 lead. Chrysochos immediately broke back, from 15/40, and then held at love to go ahead 3-2. Di Feo held from 40/15 and then went up 0/30 on Chrysochos’s serve but the Demon Deacon took the next four points to hold for 4-3.
