Big Change To The Fall Finale, FloTennis Feature on Redlicki, Trouble in Athens

Oracle Corporation and the ITA announced on Tuesday that there will be big changes to the final major event of the fall. The National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships, which began in 1978 and have been held in New York for the last several years, will be moving to the Indian Wells Tennis Garden and will be renamed the Oracle ITA National Fall Championship. In addition to a new name and new location the event will also be expanding the field. In the past it was a 32-player singles draw and a 20-team doubles draw but starting this November it will be a 64-player singles draw and a 32-team doubles draw. The ITA is still working on the details on what it will...

ITA Regional Championships – Women’s Week 2

The final 8 women’s regionals get started on Thursday with draws, seeds, and streaming link listed below. You can follow the weekend action right here plus I’ll keep the draws updated on my Fall Tournament Hub. FloTennis will be providing live streaming to its paid subscribers at three different locations.  Unfortuntately those three sites already had free streaming in place so that won’t be optimal for fans wishing to follow the women’s Northwest Regional at Stanford, the women’s Southeast Regional at Florida, and the men’s Midwest at Ohio State. FloTennis chose those sites because the technology was already in place...

Men’s All-American Main Draw Breakdown

It’s time for the main event in Tulsa with all 64 competitors known after the conclusion of the qualifying rounds. The main draw is out and there are going to be some juicy opening round matches. I thought I would take a look at the composition of the men’s field and show you where the 64 players came from and how they made the field. 40 players made the main draw based off the ITA’s preseason ranking with the last acceptance being USC’s Logan Smith who was ranked No. 48.The top two returning players from each ITA region made it in which is why the following six made the field despite a ranking lower than the cut-off of 48. #54 Max...

Friday Fall Results + FloTennis Debuts in Newport

Fall tennis is in the air as players took the courts all across the country today. I was able to watch an hour or so of the inaugural Hall of Fame/ITA Grass Court Invitational on FloTennis and I liked what I saw.  It was cool to see college players out on the grass courts and I liked the streaming options that FloTennis provided. They had crystal-clear live streaming on all eight courts and gave you the ability to select up to two courts at once for side-by-side viewing plus they had the score at the bottom left of the screen (see below). FloTennis didn’t have any announcers on Friday but they will on Saturday and Sunday so if you get a chance check...
