Pro Circuit Recap – Rosca Repeats in Egypt, Hernandez-Fernandez Wins at Home in the Dominican, Two Straight For Saraiva/Verbeek & Kadhe

Incoming TCU freshman Andreea Rosca won a second consecutive pro singles title in Cairo and also picked up a doubles title as well. Rosca only dropped 18 games in her five singles wins with just four of those coming in the final in a 6-1, 6-3 win over Austria’s Melanie Klaffner. Rosca will have a new career-high singles ranking of around 601 when these 12 points are added in next week. Rosca and Gabriela Tatarus won the doubles title with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Klaffner and Jelena Stojanovic. Davis Cup Results – Alvarez Clinches It For Peru!!

Another round of Davis Cup action is in the books with a handful of former college guys competing along with one current player.  Duke junior Nicolas Alvarez clinched Peru’s Davis Cup tie against Venezuela by defeating Jordi Munoz-Abreu 4-6, 6-4, 7-6(2), 6-1. Mmoh Wins Big in Kzoo & Titles Galore on the Pro Circuit

Michael Mmoh came into this year’s USTA Boys 18 National Championships as the top seed and he definitely lived up to the billing. Mmoh only needed about 90 minutes to win the best of five sets final over the No. 7 seed Vasil Kirkov 6-1, 6-2, 6-3. Mmoh only lost 35 games in seven matches and didn’t drop a set all week. Kalamazoo Nationals & Pro Circuit Update

All the top seeds took the court today in Kalamazoo for the second round of the Boys 18 National Championships and for the most part they had very little trouble.
