The ITA released its final singles and doubles rankings of the year with both of the NCAA Singles Champions, Thai-Son Kwiatkowski and Brienne Minor, finishing ranked No. 9. Andres Pedroso Named New UVA Coach, Chris Woodruff Takes Over in Knoxville, NCAA Singles Underway, Final ITA Team Rankings Released

Just one day after winning the program’s third straight NCAA National Championship Athletic Director Craig Littlepage named former UVA associate head coach Andres Pedroso as the Cavaliers’ new men’s head coach and director of tennis. Pedroso, who served under the departing Brian Boland from 2010 to 2014, was a national coach for USTA Player Development prior to coming to Charlottesville and then after leaving in 2014 he began coaching privately in South Florida. ITA Releases Final Regular Season Rankings, Winterbotham Out at Tennessee, All-Conference Teams

The ITA released its final team, singles, and doubles rankings of the regular season with the team rankings falling in line with what I projected earlier in the week. The men’s top five was Wake Forest, Virginia, Ohio State, USC, and UCLA while the women’s top five was Florida, Ohio State, Vanderbilt, North Carolina, and Georgia. ITA Releases 4/25 Rankings, Analysis of NCAA Cut-Off (Premium)

The ITA released its latest team, singles, and doubles rankings today with the Wake Forest men and Florida women remaining in the top spots though Florida’s gap narrowed a good bit after its loss to Vanderbilt. TCU and UCLA entered the top five on the men’s side after TCU beat Baylor and Texas while UCLA defeated USC. Baylor’s losses to TCU and Texas Tech knocked them down two spots to No. 6, USC fell one spot to No. 7, and Oklahoma State fell three spots to No. 8 after losing to Oklahoma. NCAA Announces Sites for Future Championships, ITA Releases 4/18 Rankings, Analysis of NCAA Cut-Off (Premium)

On Tuesday afternoon the NCAA announced the host sites for the 2019-2022 NCAA Championships with the National Tennis Center in Lake Nona the big winner. The new “Home of American Tennis” was awarded the 2019 and 2021 NCAA Division I Championships plus the 2022 NCAA Division III Championships. The full release from the USTA is available here.
