Texas’s George Goldhoff and Julian Zlobinsky opened up a 3-0 lead on Felipe Rios and Jimmy Bendeck at No. 2 and ended up breaking Rios to close out a 6-2 win.Texas’s No. 1 team of Adrian Ortiz and Michael Riechmann jumped out to a 3-1 lead on Max Tchoutakian and Tommy Podvinski but the BU duo broke Ortiz to even it at 3-3 and then Tchoutakian came back from 30-40...

4/5 Oracle/ITA Men’s Rankings Release – Top 8 Profiles

North Carolina retained its top spot after splitting matches with Virginia and Wake Forest while TCU and Virginia remain at No. 2 and No. 3. UCLA moves up one spot to No. 4 after picking up wins over Cal and Stanford while Ohio State drops one spot from No. 4 to No. 5 despite winning both of its matches last weekend.Wake Forest stays at No. 6 despite winning at No. 1 North Carolina. The reason they didn’t move up was because the team’s ahead of them had better overall wins plus Wake’s loss to NC State is weighing them down a tad. When I did my projections I had Wake at No. 7 because I made an error on my spreadsheet;...

Sunday Preview – UNC/WF, OU/FSU, Tulane/Tulsa, Arky/MSU

It’s Sunday which means we’ve got one more chance this weekend to see some great college tennis action. There are four top 25 matchups today with the biggest one coming in Chapel Hill as top-ranked North Carolina tries to pick up a second top 10 win of the weekend against No. 6 Wake Forest. North Carolina is coming off a big 4-3 win over No. 3Virginia while Wake pulled out a 4-3 win at No. 45 Virginia Tech. I’m still amazed that UNC won the doubles point after losing 6-0 at No. 3 but I have a feeling that Wake gets the doubles point today. If UNC plays anywhere as good as they did against Virginia they should win it 5-2 or so but I’m...

Saturday Recap: SoCal Too Tough For NorCal, SMU Stuns South Florida, Texas Tech Wins A Thriller at Baylor, Ivy Roundup

It was a nice weekend for the two Southern California Pac-12 schools as both UCLA and USC swept their Northern California neighbors, Cal and Stanford. Cal would get the break back on both courts and Filip Bergevi and Florian Lakat would take the final five games at No. 1 to win it 6-4 and give the Bears the doubles point.UCLA...

Who Let the Heels Out – UNC Takes Out UVA Again & UGA TKOs aTm

When North Carolina defeated Virginia to win the National Team Indoors back in February many thought that win wiped out all the streaks that Virginia had over North Carolina. It turns out there was another streak that was still intact going into today’s match and that was the fact that Virginia had won the doubles point over North Carolina in 18 straight matches dating all the way back to April 3, 2004. Well that streak was broken today when North Carolina found a way to pull out the point in dramatic fashion.Virginia’s Collin Altamirano and JC Aragone didn’t waste any time at No. 3 as they ran all over Ronnie Schneider and Andrew Gores...
