TCU continued its hot streak on Monday afternoon when the Horned Frogs won its ninth straight match with a 4-0 win over No. 26 South Florida. TCU won the doubles point for the 14th time in 18 matches with a 6-1 win at No. 2 and a 6-4 win at No. 3. TCU won all six opening sets in singles and Reese Stalder was the first to finish with a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 6. The Saturday schedule didn’t exactly have a ton of sizzle but there were still some good matches and a few surprises as well. The only men’s matchup between top 25 teams took place in Berkeley as No. 11 Cal hosted No. 25 Illinois. Cal picked up a quick 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles and then Andre Goransson and Billy Griffith clinched the point after coming back from a break down to win 6-4. NCAA Super Regionals Coming in 2019; Florida Atlantic Shuts Out St. John’s; Krimbill Picks Up His Award; Friday Schedule

We knew it was coming and now it is official – beginning in 2019 the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championships will utilize a super regional round which will take place the week after the completion of the first and second rounds. The 16 teams that advance out of the opening rounds will play the following weekend in two-team super regionals on the campus of the higher seeded team. The eight super regional winners will advance to the finals site with the quarterfinals beginning the following Thursday or Friday.
