The national champion Stanford Cardinal made the jump from No. 15 all the way up to No. 1 after defeating Oklahoma State 4-3 to win the NCAA Championship. Oklahoma State moved up four spots from No. 12 to No. 8 but anyone who saw them play would say without a doubt they were a top 5 team.Cal stayed at No. 2 after a semifinal appearance while Florida, who was No. 1, dropped to No. 3 after losing in the Round of 16 to Stanford. Pre-NCAA Tournament Rankings Released

The final set of rankings that was used to determine the NCAA field for both teams and individuals was released on Thursday. There weren’t many differences from what I projected on Monday with the men’s at-large cut-off falling at No. 42 while the women’s at-large cut-off was No. 43. Final Women’s Ranking Projections & Potential NCAA Selections & Seeds

64 teams qualify for the NCAA Tournament with that number comprised of 32 automatic qualifiers and 32 at-large bids (the AQs are at the bottom of the link). The at-large cut-off for the women’s field ended up at 43 since there were 11 conference champions that were ranked in the top 43.As with the men there are a few spots that are literally separated by tenths of a point and in the case of Texas Tech and Georgia Tech hundredths of a point. California stays at No. 1 for the seventh week in a row but its margin over No. 2 North Carolina narrowed a good bit after losing at Stanford on Saturday.
